General School Information


  • We are a single session Government school.
  • We offer Chinese, Tamil and Malay Mother Tongue Languages.

School Hours and Recess

The school operates from 7:30 am to 1:30pm every weekday for all levels. Students are expected to report to the Hall for the pledge taking and flag raising ceremony at 7:25am every morning.

New Admissions

A. For Children who are Singapore Citizens
1. The child's Singapore Birth Certificate.
2. The child's Singapore Citizenship Certificate for those who are not Singapore Citizens at the time of birth.
3. Singapore NRIC of both parents or Entry/Re-entry Permits of parents if they do not possess Singapore NRIC.

B. For Children who are Singapore Permanent Residents
1.The child’s Birth Certificate
2. Singapore NRIC of both parents or Entry/Re-entry Permits of parents if they do not possess Singapore NRIC.

C. For Children who are Non-Singapore Citizens and Non-Singapore Permanent Residents
1. The child's Birth Certificate.
2. The child's Passport and Dependant Pass (if applicable).
3. Parents' travel document/Singapore NRIC/Entry or Re-entry Permit/Employment Pass/Work Permit.

D. Immunisation Certificates
All parents must produce immunisation certificates (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, measles, mumps, rubella, Hepatitis B and BCG) of their children, if available.

E. Letter of Authorisation
Parents may issue a letter of authorization to their relatives of friends to register their children. The letter of authorization and the relevant documents required for a particular phase is sufficient for registration purposes. For families who are overseas at the point of registration and unable to produce the originals of the relevant documents, photocopies of these documents together with the written evidence of overseas posting can be produced by the proxy authorized by the families. However, the originals of these documents must be produced for verification by the school before school term starts.

F. Statutory Declaration
Statutory declarations (SD) is required for parents who wish to register their child using the address of the child’s grandparent or the parent’s sibling in a school. For registration purposes, the child’s grandparent or the parent’s sibling and one of the child’s parents are required to make a statutory declaration in person at the MOE Customer Service Centre.

G. For Registration under Phase 2A(1)
Relevant documents certifying the status (e.g. member of the School Advisory Committee, or former student of the primary school) of the parent must be provided.

H. For Registration under Phase 2A(2)
Relevant documents certifying the status (e.g. staff or former student of the primary school) of the parent or the sibling and also the birth certificate of the sibling must be provided.

I. For Registration under Phase 2B
A letter from the organisation to certify that the parent is a member endorsed by the organisation directly connected to the school must be provided.

J.Proof of Purchase of Yet-to-be Completed Property
An original Sales and Purchase document is required if the address of a yet-to-be completed private property is used for registration. In the case of a yet-to-be completed HDB flat, the Agreement for Lease is required.
Parents must move into the new property within two years of the child’s entry into Primary One.

School Canteen

The school environment plays an important role in nurturing and sustaining good eating habits. Most students consume at least one snack or one meal in our school canteen on most days of the week over a period of several years. Here in BGPS, we ensure that there are a variety of stalls which help nurture and sustain good eating habits in all our students.

School Cafeteria - 01

The stalls include Mr Ho's Fruit Juice & Desserts, Mdm Lim's Chinese Kitchen, Mdm Lee's Chicken Rice, Mdm Lim's Noodles Delight, Mdm Azizah's Muslim Food, Mdm Piah's Muslim Kitchen and Mdm Hang's Hot Drinks and Snacks.

School Cafeteria - 02 

Mr Ho's Fruit Juice & Desserts focuses on cut fruits such as pineapples, apples, papaya, honeydew, mangoes, watermelons and various fruit juices and milkshakes. Mdm Lee's Chicken Rice sells chicken rice with vegetables and chicken porridge. Mdm Azizah's Muslim Food sells a variety of noodles such as mee siam, mee rebus and fried kway teow / mee goreng. Mdm Piah's Muslim Kitchen sells a variety of dishes which include curry chicken, sambal goreng and vegetables. Mdm Hang's Hot Drinks & Snacks sells siew mai (halal), chicken char siew(halal) and lotus paste buns as well as biscuits, mini tarts and hot drinks.

The canteen has adequate tables and benches to ensure that students can consume their meals in a clean and safe environment
